The Problem

In the peak of July, the Antelope Valley was experiencing a brutal heatwave with outdoor temperatures peaking at 108°F. Our client, a family of four residing in a two-story home in West Lancaster, suffered a catastrophic failure of their original 20-year-old R-22 builder-grade air conditioner.

Upon arrival, our lead technician Matt Gore discovered that the compressor was completely grounded out and the indoor evaporator coil was severely rusted, leaking toxic refrigerant into the drain pan. Because the system used the phased-out R-22 Freon, a compressor replacement was not only cost-prohibitive but financially irresponsible. The home's internal temperature had already reached a dangerous 89°F.

The Solution

Due to the extreme heat and the presence of small children in the home, this project was escalated to Emergency Priority. Our team designed a custom replacement plan prioritizing immediate cooling relief and long-term energy efficiency.

The Results

The entire installation, from demolition to final vacuum testing and startup, was completed in a single day. By 5:00 PM, the system was pushing 52°F air through the registers, rapidly dropping the home's internal temperature back to a comfortable 72°F.

Not only did the family get immediate relief, but thanks to the massive leap from a 10 SEER to a 16.2 SEER2 system, their Southern California Edison summer electrical bills dropped by an average of 35% compared to the previous year.

"Our AC died on the hottest day of the year. Matt and the Working Class HVAC crew showed up immediately, didn't try to pressure us, and had a brand new system running by the next afternoon. The house has never felt this cold. True professionals."
